Matthew Proxenos

Matthew Proxenos

Robotics | Machine Learning | Teaching & Mentorship

Matthew is a mechanical engineer, biomedical engineer and all-round enthusiast about the world. He enjoys thinking about optimizing processes and about the James Webb Telescope.

Matthew is a very technical, analytical thinker. His fields of interest (recently) are in data science and machine learning, but he has been involved in surgical device development (including clinical trials), wheelchair design, and high-end drone manufacture. He likes to get his hands dirty, dislikes monotonous routine, and constantly tries to mix things up.

In terms of hobbies, there is a lot of overlap with his career. He enjoys building little robots and making things like star-trackers for astrophotography. Like any good tinkerer, he has a whole cupboard filled with projects that are 95% complete and gadgets that were cannibalized for parts.
